The Last Voyage of the Gloucester
Prof Claire Jowitt will tell us about the recent discovery of the warship, The Gloucester. The ship, which ran aground off the Norfolk coast and sank in 1682, was carrying the Duke of York and Albany who later became King James II of England. Prof Jowitt will discuss some aspects of the mysteries behind the ship’s tragic end, its significance, and the work being done by the dedicated team at the University of East Anglia. Join us for what promises to be a fascinating morning, which comes with a warm welcome and tea/coffee and biscuits.
